Electrical capacitance tomography: principles, techniques and applications
Electrical capacitance tomography system is useful for obtaining information about spatial distribution of a mixture of dielectric materials inside a vessel. This study is aimed to obtain real-time monitoring of the composition of liquid mixture in conveying pipeline. ECT is a non-invasive, non-intrusive and non-destructive technique that can measure the flow level inside a pipeline. In order to increase the image resolution and produce accurate result of current tomography research, a study on 16-electrodes sensor ECT system has been developed. The developed system has the mobility to be assembled and moved from a pipeline to another. The intelligent on-board mobility sensor technique has never been applied on an ECT system, it is a new technique and investigation of the ECT system. The system however can be assembled in different diameters of pipelines, and the number of the electrodes sensors can be reduced according to the different sizes of the pipelines without the need to redesign the electrodes sensors. In order to reduce the cost of an ECT system, Universal Serial Bus technology (USB) has been used as data transfering method. The final target of a tomography system is to control process and output of the pipeline and therefore a very high speed measurement and data transferring method is required to monitor the materials that flow inside the pipeline. In this case, a high speed data processing rate for data acquisition system and a high speed data reconstruction and image display system have been developed. As a result, a microcontroller that supports full-speed USB data transfer rate has been designed as the central control unit. The reconstruction image process in the PC was written using programming platform Visual Basic 6.0. The information obtained in the PC can be reconstructed using linear back projection algorithm. In order to improve data result, iterative algorithm has been implemented in this system in order to obtain a precise image of the flow in the pipeline
PERANAN PEREMPUAN DALAM PERBANKAN SYARIAH (Suatu Analisis Ekonomi Mikro)
The role of women in society in reproduction aspect, economic, social, politic, and Islamic leadership placed women as members in community activities or organizations. This is proved by the fact that women who are actively in organizations aren’t brave enough like men. This is become a reason why the proposed program of women is not so much to be accepted and implemented into the existing political world. The factors influence women's involvement in their role in society is education as a crucial factor because all the tasks entrusted to women can be done because of their education. This means that there is positive correlation between tasks and education

Bottleneck-based heuristic for three-machine flow shop scheduling
This paper considers a 3 machine flow shop (M1M2M3) with tendency of dominant
(bottleneck) machine at M1. The developed bottleneck based heuristics from previous
studies are considered in this case by Hezzeril (2010) and Irwan (2010), but were only
tested for dominant machine at M2 and M3 respectively. The heuristics have
successfully produced 67.24% of optimum solution at the middle process or M2 and
90.80% at the last process or M3 for 6 jobs problem. While for 10 jobs problem, the
heuristics can produce 14.64% at M2 and 90.98% at M3. As an extension of this study,
the bottleneck based heuristic scope is enlarged by developing a new heuristic for
dominant machine at M1 and combining it with the previously developed heuristics for
dominant machine at M2 and M3. The main objective is to develop scheduling heuristic
to evaluate the performance at M1 based on bottleneck analysis for M1M2M3 flow shop
and to combine with the developed heuristics from previous studies. The computer
program involved were Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and
the test of performance were conducted at 6 and 10 jobs problem. A simulated random
data within specific limitation being assigned at each job’s processing time produces
new recommended job arrangements. The generated makespan was compared with
optimum makespan from complete enumeration and lower bound (LB) analysis. Total
sets of 1000 simulated data at 6 and 10 jobs were allocated into 3 dominance level of
P1DL; weak, medium, and strong. Optimal solutions were obtained based on the total
results data that produce the ratio of 1. Based on the results, 62.40% of the solution
generated is optimum result for 6 jobs while 56.33% of the solution generated equals to
lower bound for 10 jobs. The heuristic performed moderately and decreased slightly
when number of jobs increased, showing that BMM1 heuristic is more suitable for lesser
number of jobs
Development and evaluation of a multimedia interactive CD: Public speaking interactive media
This paper reports on a study that endeavours to develop a Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) multimedia courseware namely, Public Speaking Interactive Media. This courseware was developed specifically for diploma students undergoing ENG4113 (Business English) and ENG 4153 (Public Speaking Skills) at Kolej Profesional MARA Indera Mahkota, Kuantan, Pahang. The objectives and goals of this study is to develop a CAL courseware which is in-line with the syllabus of the courses using multimedia elements together with the application of behaviorist, cognitive and constructivist
learning theories as a basis in the design of the courseware. Moreover, the instructional design and
implementation of this CAL multimedia courseware employ active and flexible learning strategies. Utilizing Hannafin and Peck’s Design Model, this courseware was developed using Macromedia Director and Macromedia Authorware to ensure that multimedia elements and simulations can be
fully integrated. The findings of the study revealed that the courseware fulfilled its objectives in aiding
students in comprehending the concept of public speaking skills better by using multimedia elements. In addition, the courseware is in-line with the syllabus and has incorporated the theories and strategies intended successfully
The usage of computer integrated classroom (cic) technology tools in the study of interactions of knowledge construction among esl pre-service teacher
This paper takes a glimpse at the possible tools for collecting data on interactions of knowledge construction among ESL pre-service teacher. The main tool identified to compile the data collection of the study is a customized of computer integrated classroom (CiC) system. For that purpose, a pilot study on computer support face to face peer response using CiC was trialed with a group of students enrolled in a Microteaching course at the Faculty of Education, University Technology Malaysia. CiC was explored to see whether the system could facilitate both modes of synchronous interactions: text-based reporting and verbal interaction. With the assistance of software and hardware integrated in CIC, many computer supported collaborative learning activities could be carried out by ESL pre-service teachers such as recording, storing, retrieving, and monitoring of user profiles’ activities, learning materials and interactions
The prediction of wake wash in the towing tank
The wash or ship-generated waves from high speed craft has become a common subject in research and development of marine transportation. Since some time now the wake wash of high speed craft has become a problem in particular on inland or confined waterways. This wake wash has an impact on safety and environment such as bank/shoreline erosion, risk to people on shore and small boats in harbors and changes in the local ecology. This paper describes the results of model test of a high speed patrol, together with theoretical prediction of wake wash

This paper focuses on the field of individual differences in English Foreign Language (EFL) teaching and learning. Both motivation and language learning strategies in individual differences of students are emphasized among other factors. Motivation and language learning strategies are important to be understood as parts of student differences in English Foreign Language (EFL) learning in the context of learner-centered instruction. The issue of individual differences becomes important to develop the quality of EFL teaching and learning process. It summarizes the concept of motivation and language learning strategies, constraints in current English curriculum implementation, the importance of understanding motivation and language learning strategies in EFL teaching and learning, and poses those issues for further research on motivation and language learning strategies
